Join Jason Love, Associate Director of Highlands Biological Station, to visit three different wetlands. We'll be birding but also will learn about some of the research being done in these wetlands. Meet at the Bartram Trail Hickory Knoll Trailhead at 8:30 to check out a nearby wetland and then check out a wetland on the Greenway near the Macon County library. From there, we’ll go towards Cowee and check out the Klatt Wetland, Balile (mile 106) wetland, and the Cody wetland. There will be some walking. Rubber boots are optional – most of the wetlands you can view pretty well without getting directly in them. We'll likely finish around lunchtime. Bring water, snacks, sunscreen and any meds you may require.
Carpooling is recommended. Those who wish to carpool from Highlands, meet at Kelsey-Hutchinson Founders Park at 7:45
